Hi everyone, I just got an Acer Extensa 5420-5687 laptop (used no warranty) , added a new hdd and plugged in and I get nothing, the battery light does not light up, I swapped power supplies with my 5102wlmi and I still get nothing, ...

I had to re-format earlier this week and I added the latest drivers 6.3 and my computer is a dog, glad I read this thread....will be reverting back to 6.1 today

I have been having problems with this as well on my m6811, I tried to tweak the memory to the settings, but the changes don't seem to stick, they end up getting bumped way higher and lock up ensues

very strange, I slightly overclocked my video card yesterday and now it decided to install with no problems.....I don't get it, but happy I am ;D

I downloaded the winflash and the bios to the desktop, clicked on the bios icon and win flash started up and took care of the rest for me.

I dunno what it does, but I flashed mine this morning and tweaked a few things and I benchmarked 12040 <-- dunno what the hell that means hahaha but it sounds good I guess. seems like things are running a little quicker and smoother.

i just got 12042 on my m6811.....is that good?

hi there, pardon my ignorance but what exactly will flashing the bios do for me? I have a stock m6811 with the generic bios.....is this something I should do immediately? and if so which should I use? thanks again

nope I formatted my old drive, and it went to its new home blank. so I was starting from scratch with the store bought cd's thinking it should be a breeze........thanks for the link I will check that as the internet nazi's at work block...
