It does say 1000 mbps on the tech specs. And yes you can use the 90 W power adaptor direct to the laptop that comes with the port replicator. It charges faster than the 65 W version.

That's an improvement of 20 to 30% over the 8600 with 9600 pro! Medude got 3390 on his XPS for 3dmark03. XPS rocks!

Call the tech support number first and tell your problem. If you have at-home service, they will arrange a tech to go to your house for replacing or repairing defective parts.
Nice review spiike. I was the one who posted photos of the hp zt3000 side by side. I returned the hp zt3000 to Costco with no questions asked after 2.5 months of playing around with it. 8600 is definitely way better than the zt3000.
Oh crap... I did not know this and now it's over 30 days! The price went down actually on my config before the 30 days expired by almost 200 bucks.
Oh well... no regrets... 8600 rocks!
