A sad day indeed. I stepped away from a recording i was working on for a smoke, and upon returning i see LED's are off, and the screen is blank. Puzzled, i try holding down the power button... All i get is a click from the dvd-rom...

Thats definetly the 16" - the bezel is smaller than my 8890, and I got the 15"... But I dont regret it one iota.
In case youre wondering, I'm VERY happy with the 15" in my 8890... I dont notice a lot of ghosting, but then I'm pretty forgiving seeing that it IS an LCD afterall...

Assumptions follow: The 8890 can handle 3 harddrives: one in the main spot, one in the expansion bay, and one where the tuner goes. Theoretically, you should be able to have a HD in the main spot and one where the tuner goes linked...
Erm... you've probably already fixed things, but with suse, i suggest you have your suse raid driver disk handy and grab the 22mb ftp install CD from linuxiso.org . it also has rescue functionality - and its suse.
It's an AverMedia AverTV card in the 8890 - I assume its the same on the rest... The laptop has to be made to hold such a device if you want it internal... no other way around it. I'm pretty certian that they dont make a pcmcia...
