This is completely unacceptable! I completed the Request a Callback form on the Sager website and yet I still haven't heard anything. We spend $3000 on a laptop, and it ceases to function after only +/- 1 year. I am at wits end.

I didn't mean to get everyone riled up. Also, I assume as soon as it was realized that the 8790 had problems, they stopped selling it. But they are very much aware of its shortcomings.

I learned yesterday that the resellers actually knew that the 8790 was flawed and that's why its production run was so short. Unfortunately, it was too late for those who had already purchased one.

Is there anything we can do collectively? Those of us out of warranty?

Unfortunately, I too have now joined the ever growing list of dissatisfied customers of the flawed 8790. Purchased July '04, started having problems about 1 month ago. Might have been sooner, but this is not my primary computer.

Here's an interesting one: if I have anything running and I leave the machine for awhile, when I return my (locked) taskbar has moved to the top of the screen with all my quick launch icons scattered around it on top of my desktop...

I'm not quite sure if the chipset is BT848/878 based. I can't get an answer from anyone; Aver told me to contact my notebook manufacturer, and I haven't, as of yet, received a call back from SagerTech.

That's what I feel like using on this machine after an exhaustive attempt to install WDM drivers from IU Labs.

Anyone? WDM drivers and new 8790 tv tuner.

I just received my 8790 (and I love it) but I purchased some TV software for my home system with a tuner card, and the software will not work with my tuner in the 8790. Is there any way to install WDM drivers with the current TV tuner...
