well, qtparted can not be used in a windows environment. so one just has to grab any linux live distribution, like Knoppix (http://www.knoppix.org/), burn it,reboot with cd inserted and start qtparted. as for automatically.... ...

well...since those swap and cache files are still on the same harddrive it won't make THAT much of a difference. swapping to another hdd helps a lot. for those of us who can't add another one: partitions are created inside out. Files...
it might be because the cpu is using max. speed, try another cpu intensive software and switch off the fans [a few seconds should be enough]. It's been the same with all of my laptops. The higher the cpu frequency the louder this...
