I'm also seeing some leakage on the bottom and top of the screen, but it's not noticeable unless the screen is totally black, so it doesn't worry me much. LCD screens are prone to "lighted" blacks.
1) It is normal, even without the battery in. 2) I haven't used Sandra for a while, but you could try Everest, it works for me.
My room is around 28º at night during summer, with little ventilation (window open, but no current), and I haven't had a problem. I must admit though I haven't stressed the laptop much yet, just ran a couple benchmarks and test programs.
Now that I see your picture I can attest thay my screen does not look that orange. There is absolutely a problem with your laptop. If you are not in a hurry you could always keep sending back the orange ones to Fnac until you receive...
First of all, the BIOS is not a driver. I agree with StrangeSpecies, if you don't really know what you are doing leave it alone, and if I recall right some people around here tried the new version and didn't find any difference....
I don't have a clue about Internet Explorer, I haven't used it for a long time. Perhaps if you posted some more information such as what drivers do you need, what file did you execute, etc. then we might be able to help.

@Sire_alvar: since you are in Spain you might also want to look in Mediamarkt if Fnac doesn't have what you want. I bought mine there for 1.440 euros (PM730), but they also had more powerful versions.
