This could be tested easier on a desktop and a fan speed controller...... I've seen videos where they would purposely try to burn up a cpu by takin the heatsink off, while playing games.. and before the system crashed, the game FPS...

If you got gigabit ethernet then that would be the fastest, if not then USB 2.0 is fastest.
Ethernet is by far the easiest because once connected the computers can automatically see each other and network very easily.
