I've got a 41p - maybe you could post a shot of your own? It's hard to get a good idea.
Did you buy your T41 from IBM? If so - just call them and tell them that it looks like the chassis has a defect - and have them send you...
ditto on the firmware update and 7200.
Oh yeah - for what it's worth - my system usually runs around a 2530 or so in 3Dmark03.
I tried Omega Drivers once and got something like a 2550 - not enough for any real difference though.
