I have never had such a problem on two AW notebooks (and one Dell notebook) using all three AW skins.
Nice pics I have the same machine (although the all black version) and also have the old 14inch screen Sentia (green). Both superb and the 18 month old green sentia still gives me easily 3 hours plus on one battery charge.
