I have the same effect on my m6805. I also have the effect around the edges of my desktop LCD. I think it is a very common occurance.

I believe it is the same story. Some have 4200 rpm, some have 5400 rpm. I can't find it again but there is at least one person with the 6809 who also got the 4200 rpm drive. I agree 4200 is slow. I will be updating soon.
