I dont' care about obsolete hardware. The 9300 is working great for me and that's all I care about.
Dell's naming system sucks. They need 9400 not E1705.
I wouldn't return the 9300 either. The 9400 is a stopgap (excuse me, E1705)...
I like Avast. It has saved me from a couple viruses. It updates every day automatically and I have been woke up in the middle of the night to the voice "Virus database has been updated" coming from my PC speakers.
Try craigslist. I hate Ebay. Some jackass bought my 1100 twice off there but never paid. It cost me $30 plus time and effort.
$1200 is probably on the high end with the low amount of memory and the slower processor. Good luck.
The best thing to do is go to Best Buy. Compare the regular laptop screens with the glossy while having light relections behind you. If that doesn't bother you after a couple minutes, get the WUXGA.
The worst part in the gloss
I'd try to extend the warranty first.
If that doens't work, call back and see if they will fix it, pretend you don't know you're out of warranty. If they say anything, then ask nicely and say tis' been a problem for a while.
I love the black finish of the new HPs. I would have bought one of those if it wasn't for the glossy screen.
