I like Avast. It has saved me from a couple viruses. It updates every day automatically and I have been woke up in the middle of the night to the voice "Virus database has been updated" coming from my PC speakers.
Try craigslist. I hate Ebay. Some jackass bought my 1100 twice off there but never paid. It cost me $30 plus time and effort. $1200 is probably on the high end with the low amount of memory and the slower processor. Good luck.

The best thing to do is go to Best Buy. Compare the regular laptop screens with the glossy while having light relections behind you. If that doesn't bother you after a couple minutes, get the WUXGA. The worst part in the gloss
