One other thing... Should I get the smallest configuration for the ZD8000 and then expand to 2GB RAM, bigger and faster HD, etc. or should I just order it how I want it from Hpshopping? Will there be a significant price difference?
The problem with that Asus book is that the display is too small. I'm flexible on other stuff, but the display has to be 17" and wide. The models that sport a 17 inch screen fly right by the ZD8000 price tag.
