Asking about nVidia cards for a desktop PC in a Sager forum probably isn't going to get you too far.
You might want to try asking in the Off Topic->Desktops forum.
For what it's worth, I *did* know the 3400+ outperforms pretty much all the P4's... but we were talking about the 3200+.
Not that I'm saying the 3200+ doesn't, too, but I'm a dumbass and (as we all now know) was looking at the wrong...
Well, if you'll excuse me, I'll now go hide in a corner and pretend I'm not here, now that I realize all these damned benchmarks I have bookmarked are left over from when I was checking out a 32-bit AMD processor.
Another from KAS Systems:
"From all the benchmarks we've conducted, the new 3.2GHz Pentium 4 clearly outperforms the fastest 3200+ Athlon XP. Thus, with no hesitation, we're glad to say that the 3.2GHz Pentium 4 is the fastest...
Here's just one of many (this one from Tom's Hardware). It's a direct comparison of the two CPUs in question: The 3.2GHz P4 and the AMD 3200+. The conclusion: "AMD & Intel the Fastest x86 CPUs, P4 with 3.2 GHz Currently...
Hype aside, you're really no better off getting an AMD 64-bit processor over a P4 at this point. In fact, most benchmarks currently show the P4 still very slightly faster than the AMD.
I love AMD, and the 64-bit thing is kinda cool...
