I think they are about the same, although the MBP does have two compared to the MB's one.
When I spin up the mbp to 6000 rpm they are loud, but I only do that to show people the smcFancontrol's abilities.

Please see the other post too. My dvd player will not open them, Niether will QT and the VLC will not stay open. I know the files work I viewed them from two different PC's.
