I used to have a built-in mike on my laptop. So I could record quick notes to myself.

Maybe the ones we get in Canada are longer cause it was pretty much the same as those annoying cable tv coaxial cables (whose copper pins are susceptible to bending inwards), and the pin was allmost flush with the barrel edge.
