for the no post.... first you MUST have memory in the computer for it to post.... try putting th memory in, in a different order and one at a time. see if it posts. if not with no video on external you might have a bad video chip...
first off most sony laptops will not post on a external monitor. to test the external turn it on and give it about the right amount of time to bot to windows and then try to hit FN+F6 (i think it is F6 on the CR) and see if it switches...
