I took my E1705 up to the Senior Design EE lab here. The two seniors that were there glanced over at my oscilloscope and realized what was going on, most likely assuming that I did not ground properly. When we took it over to the new,...
From my limited understanding of the EE side of computer hardware, I would venture to guess that any screw on the bottom of the laptop should be in contact with the rest of the metal of the laptop... and therefore grounded to the...
The computer should have all ground connectors leading to one common ground node, so you could technically connect the GND of your circuit to the GND pin of the VGA connector (although this would be a silly design)
From my understanding of EE, the source to source connection idea is right, but shouldn't work in this case. If the pins are +5 V and GND, you'll just be sending your 5V into the computer's ground, which certainly is not useful to you...
Hello folks, I just discovered this and I figured I'd post it for everyone's benefit: There is a reason to have the "Auto-On" function on your Dell laptop/desktop! If you hibernate (perhaps standby as well) your...
IMHO, you should go with Norton Corporate if you have access to it (through your company/school/etc.). Never nags, never expires. There's gotta be a reason why many corporations have it on all of their PCs.

My hotkey.rc wouldn't open through the litestep menu either, try browsing to it manually (unless you already did and I misunderstood your message). On a slightly related note, what theme do you use?
Neither quickset nor intellitype control the volume. The shell controls the volume, and you need to set litestep to do that: In vk104.txt, add the following lines: Code: VolumeMute , AD VolumeDown , AE VolumeUp ,...
Threatening to complain to a manager would be excessive. Just ask for a set of CDs that you should have gotten with your system. They'll send them out without a problem.
