I am pondering using a 3rd party keyboard. I've used Logitech for my Windows machines for the longest time & had many good experiences. I've never really liked the Microsoft keyboards, but I am open if the majority believe it is...

Yeah, as Kakaze says it does. I use the MM when travelling & a Logitech MX1000 laser when at home. It is fully programmable & supports OS X via a Logitech download.
Or you could get a Mighty Mouse (made by Apple). I scored one on eBay for < 1/2-retail price & think it works great. Two-button, too.
1. Cannot upgrade the CPU, as far as I know at least. For a Mac, that isn't too bad, though. Just max out on RAM & you'll be surprised. 2. No experience here.... 3. No prob w/ a 2-button mouse. Just make sure it's a USB mouse...
