Hint: it's a USB. Most USB devices are external. Unless you want to get just one tuner card that can be USB or PC CARD (PCMCIA).
I would go with USB though. Would be easier to handel as far as connect and disconnect.

Well, as we all know, this is NOT a gamer's laptop. It will do general computing just find, but will fail big time if you're planing on playing games on it.
So for what it's worth, I think it's still a very good buy and very capable.
My laptop doesn't have floppy of any sort. Look to see if it's possible to boot from your USB. Check your BIOS for your boot options.
If you can boot from USB then that's great. If not, you'll need another computer that you can make a...

If you're going to spend that kind of $ already on the hardware, why not go all out and get the dedicate GPU.
