Almost every laptop will get hot if you do cpu/gpu intensive stuff like gaming... My t41p's fan also works all the time when I'm playing games or running some code, though it works *very* cool otherwise
1 gigs of RAM would be an overkill imo. 512 is enough for most of the time, just make sure its pc2700. Also my advice go for 7200rpm hds, it makes a -HUGE- difference...

I'm currently playing halo when I find some free time. BTW, I have no problems after switching to MSN Messenger. So 99% Windows messenger was causing those BSODs.

Update: With MSN Messenger on, it ran stable for 24 hrs. Just put my ram in, if I don't see any crashes in the next 24 hrs, I'll conclude its windows messenger... Btw, another problem I've got: I leave my t41p on for days with AC...
