I believe that's normal. When your battery power goes down to that point, the video card is just not getting enough juice and it goes whacko.
Really good price for the specs. I've never heard of the brand thou. If you get the nvidia 6600 card with 256 megs, I'm pretty sure it will exceed the monitors native resolution. If you're into gaming somewhat, get the gt version.
