Ok, never mind. It looks like it was a problem with the catalyst drivers I had installed. Going back and re-installing the original drivers that came with the system seemed to fix it.

The vast majority of laptops have their video cards integrated into the system. For the most part, that means they are non-replaceable. A few select vendors, such as Alienware, offer "upgradeable" GPU's, but that's it.
