I think s500C is so new that no support forums are up yet - I checked notebookreview.com which has a looong list of Asus model support threads but so far nothing for S500C.

Of course not - if just the GFX card is at fault.
If the overheating just broke the soldered contacts baking may reflow and fix them. If the chip itself is toast - that's it.
The sockets for the chips are totally different. Electrically and physically.
No way, totally different chips; BGA479/PGA478 vs. FCPGA988.

You could try http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/ , it lets you install 2 drivers daily with the free version.
