The fastest CPU you can install is the Intel Centrino 2.1Ghz with the 400Mhz FSB (model 765). The 8600 doesn't support any 533Mhz FSB CPU's. As for ram, you probably won't notice a difference with more than 1GB of ram. And of course...
You could just use the windows firewall, seeing as it's built in. It isn't the best, but it will do the job, especially if you are behind a router to begin with.
To my knowledge there is no dock for the 6000. There isn't any on their parts website, plus I don't recall seeing a port on the bottom of the laptop either
I don't know if there is a working link anymore, however I do have it on my hard drive. I'd be more than happy to send you the file though. Send me an email and I'll send a reply with it attached.
8600 mobo doesn't support 533Mhz FSB, otherwise I wouldn't pinmodded my 1.6 dothan already
Trillian
what are some of the features that the fusion box has that others don't?
You will want AS5 between the copper and any surface it will touch, make sure you cover the serfaces with it, but don't over-do it
It would be an earlier version on the 8600 because at one time it did have the legacy ports
When indoors in a 1/2 way dark room you can get by with a very low brightness. My eyes don't seem to tire at all with lower brightness, but keep in mind I didn't say turn it all the way down all of the time.
