I did this last year on my 766. Great write up BTW, thats exactly what I did and you can easily feel the difference of the air coming out of vents now. Mine rarely gets hot now. -Mark

I also have a 766 and have had video distortion problems in the past. It turned out to be bad Vid card. I hope that is not your problem. Have you ever cleaned out the heatsinks? I used to look in there and think it looked clean but...
