Can you convert it without all of the information on the HD getting erased.... Yes I know stupid question... but I don't know Also... is what you burned to a DVD a bootable disk (an XP CD)... or is it just a recovery CD?

Is the HD FAT32 like the old ones, or not.... and if so how easy is the convesion...

Does the laptop come with a backup CD (XP CD) or did you have to create your own? And if you had to make your own... how do you do that.... Sorry, but I have never really had to do that before.... Also did you reinstall the acer...

I'm not completely sure, but I think most reviews have said it was shared, but either way u have 2 Gigs of RAM i don't think you are going to notice tooooo much of a difference if 256 MB is taken away.... Thant's still a lot of ram...
