Yeah you can take any remote and train uICE to remember each button press.
Then map buttons to different commands, even use the mouse with a remote, but it's kind of hard to move around that way.
You could try to flash it, but I would wait until your sure thats the prob.

PM usually give you an error code when something goes wrong.
Also PM has an UNdelete function that might get your stuff back.
