The heatsink itself has been modded. The metall sheet was removed. As for the fan, it blows mostly towards the copper part, drawing the heat from the heatsink above the GPU (blue in pictures).
Anyway, I have a question for you. My OCZ...
Well, the results are obvious, it cools down GPU better. The air still gets out partialy though the heatpipes.
So, overall,
1.Flows more air -----> cooler GPU-----> much higher overclocks
2. Quieter
3. The big fan is now much...
If you look at the post bellow this one, that's my Emachine with red paint job on it. You will also see the GPU mod bellow. I now decided to mod it step further.
Here's what's going on:
I had an extra heatsink. I kind of played with it...
If you cut out the part of heatsink (where the smaller fan blows over Radeon plate that covers the core) you can attach the new GPU heatsink to the plate with either thermal tape or epoxy. if you think of the heatsink as a circtle, cut...
Here is my Emachine, just got done painting it. I used automotive paint and clear coat, opposed to spray paint. This way it's not prone to scratches and chips. All emachine emblems were removed, bondo-ed over.
Quake logo is painted...
