Wheres the fun in buying it used? I just might as well buy a 1710 case, cant be more than 100 bucks. The LCDs are identical, i can use an external wireless card. I'd need a GPU, Mobo, and CPU then, eh? KB, really? And why not 1730?...

theoretically the 7900 fits in a gen-2, right? You just have to cut some extra room, as far as i remember?

How come theres so many people upgrading to a 7800 right around now? Is there a sale somewhere I'm missing? :P

Yeah, installing the graphics card is in no way a nightmare. I think it's fun . About that solder joint, or whatever it is that causes them to fail, if its already dead, we have nothing left to lose. Is that the same in all 7 series...
