I've never had a problem due to a BIOS update.

I'm old school...Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Enemy Territory, Command and Conquer: Generals...all run flawlessly. Some of the others on here run more modern games without a hitch too.

Updated as well, no temp readings as of yet though.

First, this should be in the Core Duo Forum. Second, you probably did this but make sure you don't have any apps that snuck their way into starting up without you wanting. Try msconfig. Also, NIS is a resource hog in general.

On a seperate note...they are all out of 630m's, so you'd get an e1405 if your laptop was not repairable.
