You would have to get it to a Acer service center I imagine. Acer uses the same chassies to allot of models.

This would only effect the support if you need it, not the hardware warrenty itself.

I saw a lower one with 1gig ram in it, afaik, can't remember the price that was listed, but it looks like you can get it a litttle more skinny.
