I used Imation on my home comp. and burned succesfuly, but my 5720 (with the pioneer) would not read them. They would play on everything else, but my lappy. I don't think those two brands like each other. I stick with maxell now.
Make sure you have the latest firmware from the website for your card, then go to your hardware manager and configure your card. It is set up for max battery by default. change your settings for max perfomance. You will be pleased.
Go to the windows advanced volume properties and mute all in lines, (mike, spdf, rear blue, etc.) except the headphone port. You are picking up noise from those lines. It worked for me. I could hear my disk turning before. now it sounds awesome!
BTW...return that creative card. Your onboard sound is just as good as that crappy card, plus the software you have to run is very intrusive. If you want better sound than what your onboard can offer, get the Echo Idigo io or...
Hey kitty, check out my new thread on stable overclocking.
How do you get you machine to run oc'd without crashing?
I've read ALL the past threads. Maybe I'm missing something.
Doom 3 @ 430/1100=crash
I recently bought mine and am totaly satisfied. Sager is an amazing machine all around. Video, sound, power, speed, you name it, it has it. I researched for 3 months all the different vendors and Sager (from Powernotebooks.com) was by far the best. This thing constantly amazes me. When I bought mine, no other vendor could even match the specs, much less the price.
After using Laptopvideotogo driver 84.25, I succesfully oc'd my gpu.
Only thing is my comp crashes while playing doom 3 exp pack @ 427/1100.
It's not stable at all! Am I missing something? Did I use the wrong driver?
Ok. I've followed instructions carefully, and have succesfully oc'd my gpu.
I can't run doom 3 @ over 427/1100 without crashing. Comp shuts down completely. Did you guys oc just to get a 3d mark score or are your settings for permanant gaming? WTF and all that.
Am I missing something?
All I knew was that it was a 5720 bios. I didn't know which bios it was, that's why I said, " try it out". So don't be short with me!!! I can read, buttmunch! I found it in the forums. Just trying to help out so don't "dis a nigga!"
Maybe on yours, Doc. My headphones were BLOWN! They sound like crap on everything I plug them into. I plugged in some little Sony Earbuds and they sound pretty good after I turned down the gain in the Realtek control panel.
Also, my cheap little Jensen powered external speakers sound better than they ever have. I am a believer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 5720 ROCKS!!!!
