Where before I reccomended chat, I'd now say email Dell. Also, I believe your mouse problem and the icon rearrangement are interrelated.
So send a email trouble report to Dell. Don't expect a rapid resolution.

Just a guess, but maybe your video settings are incorrect.
RK on the screen, click Properties, select settings, make sure they are correct. There is also a Quickset function that controls the lid, check there.
