Most likely you will get a refubrished ZD8000. The exchange is not bad as long as you get good specs on that.
Don't get the warranty with the store, it's way better to get an extended warranty through the manufacturer. For 99.99 you get one more year and for I believe 279.99 you get 3 years. The turnaround time is way better and is easier to get...
As far as I know HP and Compaq's Notebooks can't have any upgrade but RAM and HDD. Some of them can have a CPU upgrade though.
Those new models are awesome, I had the chance to play a little bit with the DV8000 and it instantly became my favourite HP Notebook.
Beware if you ever need to send your NB for service. Remember always to take the RAM out before sending it or they might void your warranty because of using Ram not bought from HP (Who BTW buys it from Crucial).
