Sadly, my geforce 7800gtx died on me today, so I need a new video card. I would love to get another 7800 gtx, but I'm low on funds atm, so I'm also looking for a good deal on either a 7800 gtx or a 6800 Ultra. thanks moody

I just had the exact same thing happen on my i9300 with a 7800 gtx. Have you had any luck finding out what the problem is? I'm in the middle of tearing my system apart, in hopes is something other then the Video card. thanks

Nice deal! Especially if you can upgrade to the 7900gtx later... Under 1200 bucks for a nicely configured dual core with a WUXA... only draw back I can see is the graphics card...

Where are you getting your Knoppix ISO from? I got mine from http://linuxiso.org I burned it once, and have used it on 4 of my personal computers over the years, plus have used it on several friends computers, without problems. good...

Get your Knoppix CD out... you have one right? It is by far one of the best tools for saving a PC when it goes south.

Running Oblivion, I have maxed out at 85C... But I forgot to turn on my laptop cooler... with those extra fans on, I top out in Oblivion at 80C *edit* idle temps 45C this is for the GPU, obviously

LOL That was the first thing I thought of... When I tried my first pin-mod, my lappy was doing the same thing. Lights would flash for a sec and then nothing.... I double checked everything, tried reseating the CPU 3 different...

Live on the edge... use a flathead! Thats what I did...

I think the patch from adobe fixed the performance issue. Also, I'm working on Photoshop 6... Yeah I should upgrade one day... thanks for the tip though
