This isn't a problem, its a design. The hard drives are attached to a mini pci raid card not the ide bus. Therefore the only ide device in the machine is the cd/dvd/burner drive.
True, but I don't know who to turn to. I'm all out of ideas. I was really interested in the Dell XPS2 for a while for its Mobility chip but its pricing combined with the non-full sized keyboard pissed me off. I want to the major...
So are all DTR's fundamentally flawed or is it limited to the 8790 notebooks? Did the AMD versions have this issue (what were they again? 4750/4790?)? How about the new DTRs from Sager (6800/7800 models)? I'm interested because this...

I wish I could elaborate on Home vs Pro, but I remember having Home with a new pc I bought a few years back and there were lots of "little things" that I found missing that turned out to be things that I was used to being able...
Never mind, looked it up. The older models used the Alps touchpad and work great. I didn't know the newer models use a different brand. Sorry to hear about this. I'll be on the look out for it when I upgrade to a next gen machine.
Sorry sir, but unfortunately, the sleep button is reserved in the Bios I belive and its either an off or an on setting, no mapping allowed in addition to "confirmation ," the Microsoft OS does not support that feature. Perhaps...
