Most people who ordered a v4000t or a dv4000 with the 80 GB 5400 RPM drive got either a Fujitsu or a Seagate. Which HD you get seems to be random.
The X700 typically generates more heat than the CPU when in Max performance mode (running off of the outlet or setting it in the options)
Also, the X700 is much more sensitive to heat. When it overheats, it will be throttled to a slower speed until it cools down. Same thing with the CPU.. If it continues to overheat even though it has been slowed down, your laptop will turn off to prevent the chip from being damaged. The Pentium M can take temps of up to around 100C...
Bossy, go to notebookreview.com. In the hardware section of the forums, there is a great big huge form to fill out.. Fill it out, and post it in that section of the forums.. There are many people there who will be willing to help you choose.
My v4000t has a brightview..
If you like the color black, or play games that have a lot of black, or do anything that has a lot of black.. Then stay away from the brightview..
Because when the screen is black, the reflections are the worst. When running Windows or when programming, the reflections are barely noticable. Because its usually a bright background (white or whatever).
In UnrealTournament 2004 Demo (practically the only game I have installed right now). ...
Even though my laptop was shipped 4 days before the build date... It's been stuck in China for the past 48 hours!! It finally gave me an estimated arrival date, and its 1 day after the build date. I guess FedEx doesn't do anything during the weekends
EDIT Oopsie, updated 15 minutes ago, it suddenly is in Alaska now! I guess it went the pacific-ocean route. lol
Gonna be a while because I'm in New York
Hello! I recommend that you head on over to http://forum.notebookreview.com/

My v4000t laptop shipped 4 days early (Thursday morning) But in China, it was late at night... So it was after the FedEx "cut-off" time.. Its just sitting in Shanghai right now, and has been for the past 12-14 hours. I certainly won't be getting it today (Friday). So I'll have to wait all weekend
I'll probably get it on the ship date (this upcoming Monday).
I'm getting it a bit earlier than expected, but I want it to be a lot earlier than expected!!!!

Sounds more like a problem...
