As a matter of fact, I was a CS major. However, when I was in school we did all our programming on IBM punch cards at first, then went to dumb terminals wired to main frames. BTW, I graduated in 1982, so you're right, times have changed...

Gateway usually charges tax. Shipping is free until February 11th for the current promotion. I don't think you're going to find the 505x cheaper than $1349.
