That's definitely strange. My 3.4 8790 scored 11907 and that's with lots of background programs running. You might want to reinstall your videocard drivers. The same thing happened when I reinstalled windows and installed the videocard...

Thanks. Using that program I've determined that in my case, the 8790's 2nd fan kicks in at 49C and stops once the temp drops to 40C. If only there was someway to alter the settings...

The EE doesn't support 64-bit, it has a larger cache but isn't a whole lot faster than a northwood at the same clock, at least not 600+USD faster
