What I would be worried about would be the HEAT issue, more than the form factor issue. Right now there are no working apps that will let you control your e1505 fans (afaik), and the fans don't really turn on when they need to be by...
x1400 can run Oblivion moderately well with FULL draw distance at 1024x640 - from personal experience. HDR and AA off, but Bloom can be on for a little bit of a hit to the framerate.
