Nah I'm doing fine with my Inspiron 9400 IMO the 1730 is to heavy to take with me to school, and I don't really like the design.
I honestly don't understand what's so great about this game. It looks like crap with every options on, (at least in the beginning...the water looks like crap). And the FPS is reeeeally bad. I almost get down to 10 fps at some locations.
I've done some thinking regarding the possible upgrade of the E1705 to the M6300-motherboard, GPU and CPU. What is the chance that the current E1705-harddrive, DVD-RW and WUXGA screen will fit with the M6300 motherboard?
How well does the 7950GTX run STALKER at resolutions like 1650x1050? My 7900GS runs like crap. Constant FPS drops and all that sh*t.

Hopefully the new Quadro FX-2600 / FX-3600 graphic cards will fit into the E1705. I am 100% sure that the FX-3600 GPU will be better than a 7950GTX. Maybe even the FX-2600 will be better. If this doesn't work because of the new...
Hm, and this can only be used with "true" sorround-sources like DVDs? Or can it be used for games that support 5.1 too?
I've clocked mine up too about 650/800 mhz. I keep it at about 610/800 mhz just to be safe.
I love my E1705...and it's gone through pretty much modding, like GPU upgrade, AS5, RAM and whatnot, and some soldering... I hope that we'll be able to put a DX10 card in it, like the M3600 from the new precisions.
