Interesting, without overclocking, my P4 3.4GHz checks in at 3477 for 3dMark06. Overclocking the GPU to around 110%, I get to around 36xx. So the X2 4800 improvement is only around 10% on the p4 3.4GHz. I'm using 83.90 drivers.

Why do you keep worrying? If you want a 100% stable 7700, don't buy desktop components for the notebook, don't buy the AMD X2, P4 or FX-60 desktop CPUs, don't get the highest end video GPU, heck don't get the m7700. Go for something...

Hello, I have a similar system as yours, P4 650 3.4GHz with the Geforce Go 7800 GTX and 2 GB RAM. I've been playing FEAR on it and I get around 50-60 fps with soft shadows switched off and everything else on high. Resolution at 1280x***....
I have a notebook M7700 3.4GHz P4 650 with the Go 7800 GTX. 3DMark05 clocks in at around 6400s. I was a little disappointed actually.
