If you request a replacement screen and the tech guy comes to replace it, what happens if you like the screen you have better than the replacement? Can you just say no thanks and ship the replacement screen back to Dell?
I don't think there's any way of specifying what screen you get as a replacement..........just pure luck. You just have to cross your fingers and hope they bring you a different model. I will most likely be going through the same ordeal...
Well.....I got my D620 today and it's got a LG screen, not the Samsung. I can definitely see what people are talking about when the say the screen looks "grainy", especially on white backgrounds. That being said, it doesn't...
Hmmm.......I know for a fact that Powerstrip will tell you -- available at http://downloads.vnunet.com/download...trip/_231.html -- It's a pretty cool program....
You should be able to see who made your screen without it though, I'll...
Go to the device manager, go to the monitor tab, go to details tab; and it will say after the display/"XXXXX". The XXXXX is the maker of your screen. Examples include SEC (Samsung), AUO, LG, etc.
