I have this problem with my R4000 all the time, but I think it is just a lubrication problem, because if you move the screen gently back and forth a few times then the screen will move more freely without the cracking sound....

I don't have CS:S but since I can run BF2, FEAR, BFME2, and Doom without lag then I don't think CS:S will be much of a problem.
