GM has integrated graphics, PM does not. PM has intel HD sound, GM does not. PM has support for PCI-Express video solutions, GM does not. There are probably a couple of other minor things.

Definently sounds like software and not a hardware issue. I would try the standard catalyst drivers, no need for omega really if your not gaming. You might download 3dmark and run it a couple times looped just to rule out...

thats lack of memory. the 512 mb is causing that, the sound is being loaded from your hdd instead of much faster memory because you dont have enough ram to hold it all.
