Depending on the error you get on the blue screen, you may want to replace the laptop either way.
I can only comment on the blue screen issue. I had the same problem with my first unit (along with a few others). After I got a replacement I did not have anymore blue screens.

Those buttons invoke default commands in Windows (even without drivers). Since that's not the case in Linux, they must be guided by drivers, but I don't think Logitech makes any drivers for linux.
This is going to be bias. Most of us didn't own the notebooks from all those manufacturers. The Acer is my first laptop (after years of custom desktops). Any time I deal with their support, I get awesome service. But maybe I would've...
Well. I tried, the drivers installed and nothing really changed. Nothing special really.
