I'm certain the max X1600's have a custom bios and require custom drivers. Nobody can get the MacOSx drivers to work when installing it on non-max laptops.
So it probably means they are incompatible with our x1600's
Ive been in contact with my local authorised service centre and they said they would be happy to help me, all I need to to is get a case id from Acer.
I think the cause is that the screen is not sealed properly and smoke particles...
I generally clean the screen a few times a day with screen wipes. When I look at the screen when its off, and angled against a light it really is flawless on the surface.
I wish it was just dirt on the screen
I've sent an email to the nearest acer authorised repair place in my area (they fixed my TM800 I had previously). I sent them the screen shots aswell as telling them about the grey line problem. So hopefully they might replace my screen...

As you can see its pretty annoying. I'm actually wondering if when the laptop was closed and was in my laptop bag the screen has hit off the keys. Still I dont think that should happen.
