I have the same model of Dell with the Truelife Screen and Go 7800. I have not had anything like that happen. If the colour tint is changing from normal to a blueish tint on it's own I would say there is something going on...
If you are looking for a good wired mouse I would suggest the Logitech G5 Laser. I went wireless with the Logitech MX1000 Bluetooth, No lag, No sleep problems, and 2000DPI.
I would say, IN MY OPINION, it sounds like a hardware issue with your video adapter. With the complexity of video drivers, DirectX API and Windows bloat, It could be software but usually when software screws up it just fails and pops you...
It doesnt look like any video artifacting that I ever seen. Artifacting is when the Video ram or processor is bad. It could be a poxy driver. You may want to try different driver version. Does it only happen in WOW?
