Clock speed has no effect on temperatures. Voltage does and you can't increase that so it shouldn't run any hotter than a stock chip.
Well I just ordered the new one. I asked for an LG, but they checked on it and said all they had was the Samsung which was "as good of quality as the LG" and that I shouldn't worry. So, I guess I will find out when it gets...
If, for instance, I wanted to see if Dell would replace my screen for light leakage, what would be the best one to order? Or do I have that option when replacing the screen through warranty?

Ubuntu is what I'm using right now. Pretty damn good so far. Automatically detects everything awesome. Only things I've had to configure are the Wifi LED and the scrolling on the touchpad. Easy to do and they work now.

The play button on the front does turn the laptop on...only when the screen is open though. If there's a way to trick the sensor or whatever into thinking the lid is open it might work. Looks good though!
