Well Ken from GenTech has been the ONLY reseller to take up the cause of the X1600 graininess. That has to tell you a lot about their committment to their customers. Others acknowledge it, but they don't think it's a big deal....but...
Looks like they revamped the touchpad buttons too. If there's no flex in the keyboard, then they've eliminated three of the biggest complaints.
How's the screen? Brightness, viewing angles, etc?

Yeah, mine has done that. Every time it's happened I've noticed it after the notebook wakes up. It also only happens seldom. I don't use my DVD drive much though so it may be more foten and I don't notice it.
Better heat dissipation and power useage, I'm pretty sure.....which is why they're used in Apple notebooks. Also ATI cards tend to hold their performance better.....look at people who bought a 9700 several years ago still being able to...
